Support system comes in all forms and shapes. This is about an individual who has always been in my life from Year 2004 and an unsung hero in my life. Everybody who knows me know that I have a love for exams and graduating and studying. Only few close to me knows and sees the hard work behind it, sleepless nights and sometimes over stretching it beyond what is physically allowed as well. I got the taste of exams in Year 2004 when I was a stupid 15 year old when I started doing CIMA and Ordinary Levels together. My first experience of over stretching started at that age. Have some time to ponder on these things hence writing about these things with the sincere hope that others will read and like it

My first encounter with Dr. Janaka Algama was when I got high fever and was too weak to even stand up because I went on for days without proper sleep and eating because I had multiple exams to study for and at 16, I wasn’t as prepared as I am now. He is the reason I was able to sit for my exams at 16. Then came the journey of completing my CIMA exams, and mind you the habit of over stretching did not stop at 16, it continued on till 2019. Couple of weeks before every exam, I had to see him because I have again over stepped and got sick due to lack of sleep and not eating properly. He understood me, cared for me and made sure I was fit physically and mentally to face any exam. He has become a big part of our life now, as he cares for my parents the same way he cared for me back in 2004. When I came back after facing a terrorist attack in Karachi, I met him and he helped me to get back on my feet, when I suffer from migraine I go to him and he treats me.

This whole pandemic situation made me realize, how I never thanked him for what role he has played in my life, my career and my sanity. He is the source of comfort, one call to him and we all feel better because we trust him to do what is best for us and he always has.

Dear Doctor, you have been the sole reason I was healthy enough to chase my dreams. I don’t have any chronic sickness so don’t have a major story to tell on that, but, you have always helped me and have been a big part of my support system to ensure I get to follow my dreams and go up my career. I wish you good health. You are a hero in my story and my life as much as my close ones are….

Dear Doctor, thank you….
